Yes, I know. In my last post on relationship counseling, I just told you to hire a housekeeper. But I also know many of you will pay no attention to that advice! And actually, you may have a point—there are several good reasons to clean your own house.
- If and when you do hire a housekeeper, you will know more about how you want things done, and how long it takes to complete tasks.
- When you clean your own house, you are more likely to get rid of clutter. You may decide you don’t like something enough to clean it!
- Cleaning your house is a way of showing your house (and yourself!) love. If you don’t do your own cleaning, your relationship with your house may be limited to buying it things. This just adds to the clutter.
- Cleaning your house keeps you in touch with your house on a deeper level. You will notice that leak before it turns into a bigger problem. You will think of better ways to store things.
Whether you hire help or do it all yourself, having a house that says “Welcome!” when you walk through the door is a beautiful way to create and make room for more love in your life and your marriage.
